It's been quite a week for our illustrious Presto Pasta Night chefs. Most have experienced very hot weather (not here in Halifax, of course) and there's quite the collection of simple to make, little heat required pasta dishes to enjoy - lots with fresh tomatoes! There are others experiencing "grey days" too, so you'll also find some comforting options as well. And on with the twentieth show.........
Somehow I missed Katiez of Thyme for Cooking, one of my favorite food bloggers. I can't believe I did that! Katiez I am soooooo sorry and such a delicious dish too...Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad which I will definitely be doing soon. The least I can do is put it first on the list this week.
Dharm of Dad, Baker & Chef is back. This week the relatives are in town and what could be better than Spaghetti Bolognese with Meat Balls!
Next in is Katie over at Other People's Food. She's made up for lost time this week, so I know we'll see some lovely dishes in the coming weeks. This time around it's Goat Cheese and Arugula Ravioli with Tomato Pancetta Butter - how divine is that!
First time PPN'er is Silvana from the Landcroft House with this unbelievable empty the fridge dish (all I can say is ...what a great fridge!). It's filled with Crab, Pancetta, Chili and Vodka - see what I mean!
Kevin, my favorite Closet Cooking genius is back with this dish for hot steamy days...it's cold Soba served with Mentsuyu Soup and it sounds wonderfully intriguing.
Glenna with a Fridge Full of Food is back to work on her new knees and made some fabulous looking Sesame Noodle Salad in a Box. Don't forget to put your feet up during lunch!
Newcomer Jeff at Veggie Delights shares this Pasta with "Meat" Sauce. Funny post and great recipe....what more could you ask.
First time PPNer Elizabeth of Invite the Party shares this awesome simple summer dish for all of you with tomatoes in your garden and the rest of us who have to buy them...Simple Summer Fresh Tomato Sauce (no cooking involved). She doesn't have photo, but you can imagine the brilliant red with sprinkles of green and know it will be wonderful.
Another PPN first timer is Georgia from Oh Kitchen, What Won't You Do? who also is suffering from the heat and came up with this lovely, easy (and minimal cooking) Chicken & Linguine.
One of my favorite bloggers is Sara of I Like to Cook and she shares another easy to do Tomato Sauce. It is the season, after all.
Marta, the wonderful Italian in the US is finally back at the PPN table with an awesome entry - Homemade Ravioli and Agnolotti with two very different sauces - Butternut Squash Cream & Pomodoro (another delightful tomato sauce). There are tons of lovely photos, but I chose to focus on the pasta.
Abby of Eat the Right Stuff has also been so busy studying (great good luck !!!) that she hasn't really had much time to cook or play with her blogging friends. We've missed her and her delightful dishes. This time she shares another variation of tomato sauce - Linguine with Cherry Tomatoes that takes no time at all.
Chris of Mele Cotte is back too with a simple (and simply delicious) dish of Feta Ravioli with Basil Infused Oil - another perfect summer dish.
Johanna of Green Gourmet Giraffe returns with a wonderful post. She doesn't just share a mac & cheese recipe...she gives us a history lesson and two delightful versions: Russian Lite and Creamy Pumpkin.
The wonderful Sher of What Did You Eat? and frequent PPN contributor gives us another way to use fresh tomotoes and not heat up the kitchen - Farfalle with Arugula Pesto and Cherry Tomatoes.
Christine of Chronicles of a Fledgling Home Cook is back, I'm very pleased to say with this mouthwatering dish of Perciatelli with Chicken in Mushroom Goat Cheese Sauce. I can't stop drooling!
Lorraine, the Italian Foodies maven writes a wonderful post and shares another creamy pasta dish. This one is Tagliatelle al Salmone. Doesn't it look lovely!
And now for something completely different, Dayna, the Vegan Visitor is back with some stunning Thai Spring Rolls. They're perfect for whipping up when it's too hot to cook.
Haalo, of Cook (Almost) Anything, another great PPN regular has this fantastic looking pasta that is very similar to couscous...Fregola Sarda with Chicken & Roasted Baby Vegetables. What's not to love!
Amy of Tart Reform is a first time PPNer - so glad you decided to join in the fun. Amy shares a great story and a delicious Baked Vegetarian Ziti.
Sarah of Cucina Bella visits for the first time too, and brings us this wonderful Pasta Fresca. It looks delicious.
And now for me...I really meant to create pasta dishes every night this week - after all, it's not often we get to celebrate a milestone and 20 successful Presto Pasta Night Roundups is certainly special in my world! Naturally, my intentions didn't quite make it all the way, but I do have two to share....Shrimp & Italian Sausage with Homemade Marinara Sauce (the sauce came out of the freezer so I didn't have to sweat on the one hot day we had!)
and...Fagottini with a simple Olive Oil & Garlic Dressing.
Pasta is such an easy option when one is frazzled, late, lazy, sickly...or just plain hungry!
So anyone out there with a pasta dish, I will continue to add submissions until Saturday . After that, I will add them to next week's PPN Event. So don't forget to join in with the rest of us Presto Pasta Nighters. It's easy and fun. Remember that ALL noodles dishes count as pasta and "presto" (ready) or "lento" (slow) are perfect. Find out how right here. In the meantime... Happy Pasta Eating!!!
