We were all so excited! The sun is shining brightly, the temperature hit 18 degrees C/64 degrees F so, what do hardy Nova Scotians do...we head for the beach. Okay, not quite true, because Queensland Beach on the Atlantic Ocean today only had a few other foolhardy people. That's my son-in-law, Ezra, pretending it's shorts weather, Boaz, & Dov and their mommy (my daughter, Joanna) are huddled together. The stay...a record five minutes. Just long enough to get everything out of the cars and then back in again..jpg)
Check out the awesome cooler basket that held all my President's Choice Goodies. This time it was filled with some spectacular wins at the market: Ran-Cher Acres, goat cheeses & curds; That Dutchman's Farm Dragon's Breath Blue and wasabi gouda; El Gallo Mexican Food's awesome guacamole and corn tortilla chips; Pamela McPherson's red pepper hummus and naturally some fantastic bread products from Julien's Patisserie - baguettes, olive foccacia and...for dessert...pain chocolat. The fruit (juicy pears) and peanut butter sandwiches for the little ones was provided by their parents. In the end, we packed up and headed down the road to a playground in Hubbards and had our picnic without the wind.

And that's Poppa (AKA my Honey) helping Dov keep up with his big brother. We had a lovely time, and I'm already planning the next picnic. What's your favorite picnic food?

It looks like a fun day was had by all. One to remember. I bet you are glad you took photos. You won't believe it, but we had 25 degrees here in scotland. it is usually about 15 degrees at this time of year. It was gorgeous, but a bit warm for the baby, who didn't even manage a nap and was weepy, which is very unlike him. Poor wee soul.
It is a little cool here for the beach in my opinion, but I did see the tourists there today...mind you they were not swimming:D
hey ruth...this seems a lovely and happy time with family..u hv a sweet family with two precious prince's...how old is ur little one...he likes guacomole very much it seems..thanks for sharing the bful pics...
It was a lovely time and I am glad we took pictures, because no one would believe our short stay otherwise.
J - wow, that is warm. Sorry your little angel didn't appreciate it.
BV - here in Nova Scotia, the water will be cold even in July & August. That's the Atlantic Ocean for you.
SG - Dov (the little one) is 16 months old and thinks he can do everything his brother (3 1/2) can do. As for eating - it's quite incredible how sophisticated his palate is. Boaz, on the other hand used to eat much better and now seems to only want peanut butter sandwiches or chicken nuggets ( breaded chicken pieces) and we have to beg him ;-D
