My First Issue of La Cucina Italiana Arrived

Lucky, lucky me. last October I entered a contest...something I never do, don't ask me why....over at Blog From Italy. The request was for an Autumn soup with ingredients that could be found in Italy for all their food testers.
My Roasted Beets & Pumpkin Soup took third prize....thank you, thank you, thank you. And today I received my first issue (the prize was a one year subscription, so now I don't have to go hunting for it in stores) of La Cucina Italiana and I'm going to spend the afternoon planning next week's dinners and drooling all over the magazine.

Oh YAY! You've got to let us know what you think of the magazine. My niece is selling magazone subscriptions for her school fundraiser and I have been thinking about ordering La Cucina Italiana, but couldn't decide because I've never seen an issue in person. Is it worth ordering?

If you love very authentic Italian dishes, it's a great magazine. Wonderful recipes, delightful, thoughtful articles. This month's issue has an article about the Slow Food Movement, which started in Italy and ones about salt cod and honey.

I hadn't heard of that magazine; can't wait to hear more!

What a unique flavor combo, beets and pumpkin; I can't even fathom the taste!
