My cousin called from Fort Lauderdale and since he's seen many a hurricane in his day, he felt it wise to share his "preparedness tips"...Number One...have a good corkscrew ;-)
My rule... have something delicious to munch on while you wait. Check out my very fresh Digby Scallops, lightly dusted with Madras Sambar Masala, seared for 2 minutes per side, sprinkled with fresh chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice.

And now we wait....

I hope it passes quickly and without causing damage. We'll be keeping a close eye on the news tomorrow.
Thanks, we're all hunkered down and keeping our fingers crossed.
Looks like you have some good feed if anything serious should happen. Enjoy and stay safe!
That is a most important tip! Your cousin is very wise :)
I am amazed at how unprepared Toronto was when the Tornado hit last week but I see you got a lot of things under control. Hang in there!
I hope it passes you over or at least loses momentum. I have been watching the news. What a terrible month..fires in BC, tornadoes in Ontario and now hurricanes.
Hopefully you were lucky like we were, didn't lose any power since the storm ended up not being that strong. I should have had more fresh food on hand other than fruit, LOL. I was worried about food going bad so now I have to go out and get "real" food. Those scallops look gorgeous!
Thanks all for your kind thoughts. It's all over...just a bit dull and the air heavy today.
Nothing much happened around our way...lots of rain & wind, but really uneventful around here. That said, we did have lots of good food and and we shared with the neighbors.
Glad to hear its all over with no damages! Did you make use of the corkscrew though?? lol
