1) C of Foodie Tots interviewed me about my cooking experiences with my girls. Thanks for the great post. And by the way, it's still great fun to cook with them. Above is a photo of Sharron making challah - Foodie Tots has one with Joanna and I wouldn't want my baby Princess to be jealous.
We're actually on to the next generation of chefs. Boaz will be two in January, but already his mummy has a plan for this Sunday. It will be the lighting of the first Hanukkah candle (and naturally lots of latkes for dinner) so she plans on making some sugar cookies in a variety of Hanukkah shapes - menorahs, dreidles and stars of David with Boaz. I'll let you know how that turns out.

I haven't quite decided on which dish I'll be sharing, but in the meantime, here's a fun thing to do with your kids...make your own pasta.
Okay, true, Joanna is now all grown up, but it's still a fun afternoon, and Boaz (and everyone else, loves the results). Here are a couple of our creations -

Another great picture! Thanks for sharing your (& your daughters') cooking memories, it was great fun. I'm hoping to make sugar cookies with my two-year-old this weekend too, should be an adventure!
It's weird, but my four year old has been in the kitchen with me so much right from the start (his playpen used to sit in the corner while I worked) that he knows what ingredients to gather for certain breads, pastas, etc. I don't let him in the kitchen for frying or canning, but he's been pretty involved with just about everything else.
I think he likes to hang out in the kitchen these days because the rest of the house is freezing (very old, drafty farmhouse).
Shar...er Anon...I miss having you around in the kitchen too.
FT, enjoy the experience..there's nothing better than the joyous chaos of kids in the kitchen.
Goodie, like you, my girls and now my grandson (the baby is just 3 weeks old, so...not him, not yet) loved the kitchen from when they were tiny. What better toys than that tupperware cupboard or the nesting measuring cups to start with.
