You might know the expression "the best laid schemes o' mice and men often go astray", Robert Burns. And this week we have another divergence... A communications challenge with her domain host has Inge trying to quickly resolve her issues...Vanielje Kitchen. And we will be patient because she has the most wonderful site...great writing, beautiful photos. Plus she made some awesome looking squid pasta from scratch and left us all wondering what she was going to do with it before her site went on a vacation (short one I hope). I will keep you all posted.
In the meantime, I will do a temporary roundup because there are some very tasty treats and I would hate for all of us to have to go through pasta withdrawal. If you don't see your entry here, please email me and I'll add it to the roundup: ruth (at) 4everykitchen (dot) com. You can also leave your URL in the comments.
Sarah of What Smells So Good? was first in with this Pasta with Chives, Ricotta & Squash and another interested pesto for us (You do know how much I love interesting pestos!)
Mary of One Perfect Bite had a lovely visit to Shanghai and we can all relive it with this perfect dish of Shanghai Noodles . The bubble bath sounds wonderful too.
I already mentioned in a post of my own that I really wanted to make this. Being the nice person that I am, I thought Shannon of Simply Cooking should share it with the rest of you first. Spaghetti with Spinach and Garlic is great on its own or as a side.
Ben of What's Cooking? takes great advantage of those lovely Fall pumpkins good for so many things besides Hallowe'en Jack 'O Lanterns. Just look at this fantastic dish of Ravioli with Sage and Pumpkin Sauce.
Kitchenetta of Got No Milk also made a trip to the Far East...at least in the kitchen. Her Singapore Noodles look very tempting and we all save on air fare.
Colleen of Foodie Tots reminds us that you don't really need sauce when when you use flavored pasta. Her Saffron Pasta with Salami, Greens & Roasted Tomatoes is a perfect example.
TS &JS [eating club]Vancouver made the most spectacular looking dish of Creamy Chanterelles & Roasted Garlic...don't you think so too?
Jin Hooi of Smell & Taste are my Memory had to make Poached Chicken Noodle Salad even though Pam of Sidewalk Shoes submitted it a couple of weeks ago. Donna Hay is hard to resist, after all.
Maxine of Chew on That shares a mouth-watering dish of Lemon Fusilli with Arugula from another of my favorite cooks...Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa.
Becke, Columbus Foodie made a very tasty looking dish of Pasta with Swedish Meatballs that I really want to try soon. She used a very interesting technique...
Abby of Eat the Right Stuff also adapted a recipe from another of my favorite chefs - Jamie Oliver. Here's her Sausage & Cavolo Nero Tortignlioni...need I say more?
Mrs Ergul of Mrs Ergul's Kitchen made a mouth-watering dish of Five Spice Chicken Bean Hoon.
LK of Food-4Tots (of any age, I might add) made a very excellent dish of Tuna Pasta. Can I eat it with my fingers like my grandson does?
Aimei of Baking Cottage almost got lost in all of this and that would definitely have been a shame. She made my all time favorite Seafood Pasta Aglio Olio.
Jeanne of Cook Sister hasn't been around for a while and the first time back, I missed her lovely post and her fantastic Chicken with Sun-dried Tomatoes and Mustard Pasta Sauce. Glad she reminded me.
And finally my own...the side dish I made instead of Shannon's. I used some left over Moroccan Tomato Sauce which may look ordinary but is not.
Next week's Host will be Nilmandra of Soy & Pepper She has a lovely site and you can email your entries to her directly nilmandra (at) soyandpepper (dot)com . And from now on, in case there are more PPN technical demons out there, please cc me as well ruth(at)4everykitchen(dot)com.
Plus...Don't forget to check all the Presto Pasta Night Roundups dating back to March, 2007, see who's hosting for the next four weeks and check out guidelines and tips for entering and hosting.
If you have any ideas for a topic for Presto Pasta Night, let me know. Facebook members, please visit the Presto Pasta Gang on Facebook
But for now...bon appetit!

Ruth,
Lovely roundup of so many mouth-watering dishes!
Hi Ruth,
Tks for the wonderful roundup and your comment on my dish. Help yourself! Hope Vanielje Kitchen's site will be up soon.
Thank you for the roundup and sorry to hear about Inge's technical problems.
So many great dishes here. I love the pasta with saffron especially. Delish!
Ruth, proof once again that you are indeed a SUPERWOMAN!!! I'm so sorry to have dumped the roundup on you at the last second, but you have as usual done a brilliant job. I'm sorry to say that in trying to fix my technical difficulties I have managed to crash my entire site so now have to get in the professionals to see what they can save. My apologies to all the fantastic entrants and thanks for all your hard work and delicious dishes as well. I could have done with one or six of them at midnight last night!!
Hello Ruth from Penang,Malaysia,
I'm not exactly a 'pasta-eating person' but your pasta recipes certaily look inviting! Will try them out during the coming holidays!
I've listed your blog in my late daughter's blogroll cos I know that she loves home cooking!
seeing all of those noodles makes my mouth water. absolutely beautiful.
Ruth, I miss contributing to PPN. Still trying to put together one with a Malaysian touch for a cold day. Now where's that picture...? *shuffles off mumbling to herself*
Inge, I do hope your site gets fixed. It would be such a pity to lose all your stunning photos and lovely writings. We'll all be keeping our fingers crossed.
And thanks to all for the kind words. PPN is a wonderful event...so glad I thought of it ;-)
Truthfully, I never anticipated such a success.
And I'm eagerly awaiting all your lovely dishes for future roundups.
