A New Best Friend - Garlic Pepper

I recently received a package of Spice Depot Grind Fresh with two different jars - Garlic Pepper and Smoky Rib. (You can check out the ingredients at the link) But...hmmm which should I try first? The Smoky Rib smells a little like barbecued chips and I think I'm going to use it a la blackened chicken on some boneless breasts in my grill pan. I intended to use the Garlic Pepper on some lovely steak that I'd grill (again...my grill pan, which will become my new best friend - especially since there's no place for a bbq here in my terrific new abode (one of only two negatives in the whole place. The other being no pantry for storing all my excellent herbs and spices or any other dry foods either)...but I digress.

My Honey and I love Steak au Poivre, so I thought I'd make some. The steaks, however did not look as delicious as the price tag implied. The recipe for Garlic Peppercorn Lamb I saw made my mouth water, but my Honey's not a big lamb fan unfortunately. And then I saw them...plump, juicy, fresh scallops...and on special!!!

I served them over a simple green salad, but next time around, I think I'll go with some sauteed spinach or snow peas. Of course for the Presto Pasta in me, these scallops would also work over a simple pasta tossed with olive oil and a squirt of lemon or lime juice.

I love garlic pepper Ruth!!! I use it quite liberally on my potatoes, but I am sure it has many other uses. I have also tagged you for a MEME. We do get lots of these but I needed someone whose name began with the letter "R". There are only so many hours in the day for blogging, so, participate only if you wish to.
