Another Sunday Tradition - Baby Playing & Pasta Making

Related Links:

Last week we played with Joanna's new Marcato Atlas Pasta Maker and made delicious fettuccini. That and played with the cutest, happiest baby ever (I'm not biased, I assure you). It was so much fun that we decided it would be our new Sunday tradition.

This week Joanna thought we should make some lasagna, but not your traditional lasagna. This one was filled with scrumptious surprises at every bite...spicy Kalamata olives, sun dried tomatoes and lots of different cheeses, my favorite was the goat cheese. It replaced the more traditional Bechamel sauce and gave the lasagna a rich, creamy, tangy flavor. The other surprise...6 layers of pasta sheets. You read right! The sheets were lovely and thin and even though there were so many layers of them, they did not overpower the filling. What a perfect marriage. And I will probably never (okay maybe in a pinch, or when Joanna and her pasta maker aren't available) use store bought lasagna pasta again.

Spicy Kalamata Olives & Sun Dried Tomato Lasagna

We had it with a simple Sort-of-Caesar Salad. Delicious!!

So what are you making for Presto Pasta Night this week?

The lasagna looks really good. The sun dried tomatoes and kalamata olives should make a really great tasting lasagna. Bookmarked!

*whistles* Quite a good-looking lasagna, there...I'm usually scornful of any lasagna recipe not involving meat but this definitely looks filling enough that I can let it slide!
