A Jamie Oliver "Pass It On" Dinner

I just wrote about how brilliant Jamie Oliver is, so I won't repeat myself.

This is just a quick follow-up post....that's the Quick Salmon Tikka with Cucumber Yoghurt (tzatziki) that I chose and it was fantastic and really didn't take more than the 17 minutes Jamie said it would in his step-by-step video. I even used multigrain naan bread, so it's very South The South Beach Diet , Phase II friendly.

Admittedly, I didn't follow all the "Pass it on" rules...You're supposed to actually invite real people to your real house and cook up this meal. All my favorite people are out of town...camp, vacation, live in different cities....oh well.... But I did think they'd love the dish and so I invited them virtually instead. After all...who wouldn't want Jamie directly showing them how, anyway?! There's always something to learn from the master.

So, now I'm unofficially "passing it on" to all of you. Join in the fun yourself...I'll be doing it again once September comes and more folks are actually around to invite them here. I wonder what dish I'll choose....Sizzling Beef with Black Bean Sauce or Mini Shell Pasta with Bacon & Peas.

A perfect segue ....remember this week, I'll be hosting Presto Pasta Nights myself. So send your entry to ruth (at) 4everykitchen (dot) com.

Guidelines to share your pasta dishes.

And if you'd like to host a Presto Pasta Night Roundup yourself, just send me an email. October and beyond are wide open. What are you waiting for...it's great fun and a fabulous way to get introduced to other awesome bloggers.

I love Jamie too! For his quick and tasty recipes and also for all the efforts he has been doing to give back -- like his school dinners and his, as you mentioned in the previous post, ministry of food...cute british lisp does not hurt either ;)

I caught the show and really liked the concept too. Haven't had a chance to make any of the recipes, but glad to hear the Tikka is good. I almost bought the book at costco but I restrained myself since the recipes were pretty simplistic. But I just love jamie oliver. Total guilty pleasure.
