Rants and a Cautionary Tale

First I want to say that I am not usually a ranter. Ask anyone...well, okay, I have been known to rant to my Honey, sister and daughters on occasion, but the rest of the world knows my very sunny side. In fact, I've been called Pollyanna more than once in my life.

Just a few days ago, I was saying how much I love the people I meet through food blogging, so I'm doubly annoyed that today I received more than 30 spam comments - each on a different post and I had to manually go in and delete them. It took me more than a half an hour! What a waste!....big sigh....okay, finished ranting.

I do have a word of warning though....use whatever tool you have to enable you to moderate each comment before it gets published. It cuts down dramatically on the number of spam.

And now I'm off to have some comfort food for lunch - chicken pot pie (even if it is store bought) and perhaps a cup of Jasmine tea before I get back to myself.

Thanks for listening.

Rant away. I enjoy other people's rants. And yes, the spam SUCKS!!

Enjoy that chicken pot pie. Funny, I'm making cpp tonight for dinner too. Great minds think alike, you know!

I had even more than that, and apparently it was Chinese porn! So, I finally had to go to approval.

Glenna, I have a feeling your cpp was better than mine...or perhaps it was my mood. I am better now, though.

Pan, one word...un--be-lieve -able! Why do they do it anyway?

That's exactly why I switched to comment moderation. I'd wake up in the morning to over 30 minutes of work deleting comments. Just not worth it. Why do people do it? Don't they realize that nearly every blog will delete the spam?

Kalyn, I guess they hope for whatever traffic it might drive before we catch it. Whatever the reason they do it, it is truly annoying.

I won't spam you. I just read today that unemployment and idleness will lead to more spam and more hacking. I am looking forward to it not.
Who responds to these scurvy types? Who would willingly use a credit card or send money to someone who did business that way?

Good question...although apparently there are a lot of gullible people out there.
