Pasta - Where's the Pasta?

Normally I'd be serving this fantastic dish of Ancho Chili Shrimp Stir Fry over fusilli to catch all the wonderful smoky sauce. And it is a great way to start off 2008 Presto Pasta Night roundup - #44.

Since South Beach Diet, Phase One allows for zero grains, we had ours over Cauli-fried "rice" (one of my favorite SBD dishes), so for those of you who need a different option for the next week or so....try it, you won't regret it.

Hi Ruth - happy New Year! I picked up the South Beach book this week and am thinking of starting on Monday. It sounds really well founded and the obvious cardiac benefit is a no brainer. But it does seem quite foodie friendly as well. So I will be checking back here for lots of recipes like these! Take care!

Happy new year :) I'm thinking that for next week's "presto pasta night", I'm going to try something w/ spaghetti squash... Can't make this week's, but my camera! will arrive this week, and I'm excited to not be so embarrassed about my pictures. I'll have you know that I'll be studying your blog this weekend for inspiration, and am thinking of a 2-wk detox and then a course through South Beach to see if it works for me. I even think the boy might do it with me. Any words of hope?

Deborah, Tanya the reason I really like South Beach is because it's so easy. That said, we've just finished week one and I am definitely craving bread. The upside is that I've come to really appreciate interesting breads made with whole grains. Just keep that in mind during the first phase.

It really is just a very healthy eating pattern - and the best part...you don't have to give up anything (at least not after the first 2 weeks) including bread, pasta, potatoes...whatever starch you crave. The key - moderation!!!

Good luck and happy 2008!
