Presto Pasta Milestone - Six Months Old!

Related Links:

Who'd have thought six months ago that Presto Pasta Night would become so popular with so many people. This week it's six months old and I thought I'd share some stats to get you all excited for Friday's big bash.

More than 4oo recipes so far! I took a lovely journey down memory lane today, looking at how PPN has grown over the weeks, watching the seasons change in the recipe submissions. There are dishes from around the world - literally! And at least 20 different pestos! I counted 19 lasagna variations and 25 creamy sauces (one of my many weaknesses), 15 soups (I'm sure there will be more when the weather cools down) and too many salads to mention.

Everything from baked to stir fried, from slowly simmered to quick as a wink combos. Stuffed pastas of every size, from tiny tortellini to giant shells mingle with a bazillion varieties of noodles - long and lean like spaghetti, fettuccine, angel hair, glass and soba to short and twisty, like farfalle and fusilli and a million more quirky ones.

And the sauces...don't get me started, there are too many tomato based sauces to mention...from slowly simmered canned to fresh from the garden, added at the last minute. At least 4 of the Bolognese are vegetarian versions of the classic meat sauce. I encourage you to take a trip down memory lane and get inspired.

I've decided to do something new for this PPN milestone. I've created a Presto Pasta Night Gang group on My Facebook and I hope you'll all join the fun. I'm not exactly sure where it will go, (I had no idea that PPN would be such a hit either), but the journey will be wonderful. The idea is to create a community where we can share our concerns, ideas, advice and just plain socialize in real time. Where was this when Joanna and I made pasta for the first time and didn't know how long to let it rest, or dry or if we could freeze the left overs? See how useful it could!

So what are we all making for the big Presto Pasta Night Party this week? I hope to see all of you on Friday, in your party clothes (or pyjamas) with a fancy dish or the simplest comfort food dish. Wether it takes you forever to prepare or you can whip it up in a minute, I'm looking forward to celebrating with you.

Something new to me - but I'll check it out... I may be a bit out of the loop - time zone wise ;-)

Actually Katiez, I think it's more like a forum, so not necessarily instantaneous. Although waiting for an answer to something for at least 6 hours probably wouldn't be fun.
