Presto Pasta Night Roundup #19

The weather has been all over the place for our wonderful contributors this week and our Presto Pasta Night Roundup #19 reflects that. We've got salads for the heat waves, and more substantial dishes for those (like me) in rainy/cold climates. Yet again we have some really new and interesting dishes including one done in a smoker, another in a crockpot and another glorious dessert pasta. So without any more rambling from me, on with the show...

First up this week is a PPN regular, Alisha of Cook, Craft, Enjoy. She's off on a holiday with her younger ones and wanted to make sure she sent something our way. Her dish started out as pasta with meat balls, but by the time dinner arrived...it was too hot for that so it became Pasta with Meat Sauce...and looks delicious. Have a great vacation and think of us!

Next in is first time PPNer, Maninas of Food Matters who shares her Penne alla Vodka . It didn't come out quite as good as planned, so she also shares links to other people's versions. I love it when people share their "oops"es, because we all have them and new cooks seem to thinkg they're the only ones...not true! Check it out.

Kevin of Closet Cooking (another great PPNer) is back with a wonderful dish - Spaghetti Carbonara with a Twist. It's a delightful marriage of Carbonara and Bolognese and I can't wait to try some!

Glenna at a Fridge Full of Food is back with a new resolution - better eating habits and she shares the most amazing (and sophisticated) dish of Pasta with Truffles and Asiago cheese. In her post she said she was opting for a "simple dish of pasta over a burger" and I love how elegant a simple (because it only took 5 minutes) dish can be.

Jenn, the Leftover Queen is back with a Romantic Summer Marinara for Two. Actually, I love this photo even though you only get a tiny glimpse of the pasta. You'll have to head over to her blog to see the whole dish.

Tigerfish of the wonderful Teczcape is back with this Curd Noodle Salad to take us through summer's heat waves (There are bound to be many). I love the addition of dried shrimp to have on hand when your brain is fried from the heat and you want something a little out of the ordinary.

Holler of Tinned Tomatoes is back. I love her stuff! She shares this oh so pretty Pea Pesto Pasta (try saying that 10 times and fast). It's so beautiful and perfect for the hot weather.

I always enjoy it when Johanna, the Green Gourmet Giraffe joins us. She lets us "walk through her head" as she thinks about and then cooks her dishes. This time is no exception. She shares her Tempeh Casserole, but I'll let her tell the story and check out the giraffe shaped noodles while you're there.

Christine, The Fledgling Home Cook is back with this crockpot version of Beef Stroganoff that she cooked up especially for a friend of hers with a new baby and no time to cook. We all get to share the benefits. And now I get another reason to take out the old crockpot.

Nora of LifeSmorgasbord is back..well actually her very talented partner Quikong whipped up this awesome Garlicy Olive & Shrimp in Marinara Sauce served over Spelt Penne. She's a lucky girl, because the dish sounds perfect!

Katie of Thyme for Cooking is back with a great story (okay - great for the rest of us, but not so great for her) and a wonderfully different pasta dish - Smoked Pasta, you heard (make that read) right! Head over to check it out.

Gilli over at So So Simple is back with a truly mouthwatering dish of Mac & Cheese - it's got scallops in it. How great is that!!!

Myriam of Once Upon a Tart is back with another sweet pasta (She did an awesome ricotta tart last week). This time it's Sebadas - sweet deep fried ravioli and I'm drooling about them as I write!

Dayna, my favorite Vegan Visitor is back with a dish she made from the beautiful garlic scapes in her garden. It's Pasta with Casareccia with Pea and Garlic Scape Pesto and it looks lip-smackingly delicious!

Sher of What Did You Eat? returns too, I'm happy to report. Of course it's hot where she is, unlike here where I'm wearing socks and a sweater as I write, but her Spicy Sesame Seed Noodle dish with lots of peanuts and basil looks awesome whether it's hot or cold where you live.

The fabulous Haalo of Cook Almost Anything , another terrific PPN regular shares this absolutely, positively glorious Fetttucine Con Salsa di Noce (make that walnut sauce, but really, doesn't it sound so much more musical in Italian?)

Dharm, the Dad-Baker & Chef is back with this interesting Asian Fusion Linguine. I do hope his kids liked it.

And finally, my own Presto Night Pasta. I must say, this one is my new favorite. It's Lemony Mascarpone Cheese & Herbs Spaghetti and it's so creamy and good, I might just have to whip up some more for tonight!

So anyone out there with a pasta dish, I will continue to add submissions until Saturday . After that, I will add them to next week's PPN Event. So don't forget to join in with the rest of us Presto Pasta Nighters. It's easy and fun. Remember that ALL noodles dishes count as pasta and "presto" (ready) or "lento" (slow) are perfect. Find out how right here. In the meantime... Happy Pasta Eating!!!

I just discovered your PPN event through Sher's blog, and it's so wonderful! Lots of inspiration for me, definitely. I adore pasta, but only have a handful of pasta recipes that I tackle regularly. This will definitely expand my horizons.

Wow you guys are as quick to comment as you are to come up with great pasta recipes! Thanks all.

Deborah, I've already been tagged for a 7 things about me meme http://onceuponafeast.blogspot.com/2007/06/7-random-things-about-me-meme.html and frankly it was hard to come up with things then. Thanks for thinking of me though.

Christine and the rest of you PPN
