I can't believe I haven't written about my new Cuisinart Elite Collection 12-Cup Food Processor
The large bowl and shredding & slicing blades made the prep for this Indian Spiced Coleslaw a snap. But the food processor isn't the only tool to make it out of the cupboard.
The Cuisinart SPB-600 SmartPower Deluxe Blender
Check out my Lemony Shrimp & Garlic Pasta that I made last night... which will obviously be my entry for this week's Presto Pasta Night, hosted by Kirsten of From Kirsten's Kitchen to Yours.... for the FOURTH time, I might add! With or without lots of kitchen toys, please send your entries to kirstenmlindquist(at) gmail (dot)com cc ruth (at) 4everykitchen (dot) com by Thursday, June 9.... but I digress... the kitchen toy used... the microplane for the garlic.
One last toy... I forgot to take a photo, but now that I discovered Spatchcocking.... my kitchen shears, sharp enough to cut the backbone out of the chicken have come out of the back of the tool drawer. This Roasted Herb & Garlic Spatchcock Chicken is... as Jamie Oliver would say...BRILLIANT!And because all these tools and all these dishes make me feel good... right to my soul... I thought I'd share them with Hearth and Soul's Blog Hop, over at A Moderate Life.
Now that I've shared my favorite kitchen toys with you... what are some of the ones you choose to play with in your kitchens?

The food processor and blender are gorgeous! I have a tiny food processor and no blender...life can get pretty frustrating at times!
I think my favorite kitchen tool has to be my standmixer. I couldn't bake anything without that baby anymore!
That is the one I have - love it! I use it for slaw, shredding cheese...you name it. Definitely one of my favorite appliances,
I bake a lot.... including breads..so mostly my standmixer is in regular use. However, I made the mistake of buying a CuisinArt when I gave my small KitchenAid to my brother...thinking I would have a stronger motor with which to mix my bread doughs.
Wrongo. This thing is noisy..and it chugs along .. sounding like it is grinding .. even with a small batch in it.... maybe it is a lemon...maybe I should have taken it back earlier...but, now... I am just hoping it conks out so I can buy a new KitchenAid...or maybe one day I will just buy one anyway and be back to having what I know. Even my little KitchanAid 250 mixed the maximum for the bowl size with no trouble......sigh....wish I still had little Snow White.......my brother still has her and he bakes as much as I do. She is still whizzing along like nobody's business .....
Much as I love my Cuisinart toys - food processor, blender & "smart Stick" I would never trade in my Kitchenaid Stand mixer.
