Where did the week go? I can't believe it's Friday already, but it is and another wonderful Presto Pasta Night is here. Lots of fresh produce from the garden - tomatoes, zucchini, snow peas and more. This time around, though, the focus seems to be on using unique pasta shapes to go along with some incredible sauces.
First up this week is Marta, An Italian in the US. She's back with a very lovely, very international dish - Japanese Tagliatelle. I love it when different cultures marry so well!
Myriam of Once Upon a Tart was in a hurry and very hungry. Check out this gorgeous Cavatelle with Porcini & Morels. Who says quick can't be elegant?
Rosa Jackson shares a wonderful story, great photos and a terrific recipe for Homemade Tortellini. Seriously...how cute is that tortellini? Sounds like a fantastic rainy day project with or without kids .
Holler of Tinned Tomatoes always has something wonderful to share. This time it's a glorious green and yellow dish Lemon Courgette & Mascarpone Tripoline. Nothing says "Summer" better than this.
Amy of Tart Reform is back and even though it was hot outside, the air conditioning had her craving some Chunky Chicken & Vegetable Soup with orzo. Wish I had some yesterday for our rainy cold weather.
Alyce of Mantia's Musings joins us for the first (and hopefully not last) time and shares not one but two perfect fresh tomato sauces. Here's a photo of the Sicilian Marinated Tomato Sauce with Seared Shrimp, but read the post carefully for the other version.
Sharon of BirdFood (I'll be the bird that gets her food anytime) is another PPN first timer - welcome! She shares a perfectly sinful Fried Pumpkin & Sage Ravioli with a Creamy Hazelnut Sauce. How decadent!
Kevin, the wonderful Closet Cooking fiend is back with a truly wonderful Szechuan Shrimp on Soba Noodles. He's just realizing what a great food group "shrimp" is. I could eat them everyday.
Sarah, la Cucina Bella is back with not only a mouth-watering dish of Pasta with Tomatoes, Olives and Artichokes, she also links to some of her other great pasta dishes as well.
Katie from Thyme For Cooking is back with a very funny post about salads. She shares this beautiful Fresh Tomato & Green Olive Salad. Check it out and then let us know which camp you fall into - salad HAS to have lettuce vs. anything cold with a dressing is ALSO a salad.
Tigerfish of Teczcape is back after quite a hiatus. She also has a question for us...this one about instant noodles. Do you have any on your shelf? She makes a great
Indian-style Instant Ramen with Tuna & Edamame Beans using hers.
Sara of I Like to Cook is back too. She brings a fantastic Zucchini and Tomato pasta dish this time that looks great.
Pamela, the Cooking Ninja is another first time PPNer and so glad she joins the party. Check out this awesome Char Kway Teow that stars my favorite...shrimp.
Marye of Apron Strings & Simmering Things is also new to PPN and has a really interesting dish. She whipped up a Fusili with Chipotle Cream Sauce.
Mandy of Fresh From the Oven is addicted to salami - me too! This Antipasto Salad is an awesome way to dress it up.
Haalo of Cook (Almost) Anything and a terrific PPN regular came up with this Pipe Rigate with Pancetta and Beet Greens & Stems. Pretty fantastic for a dish out of "nothing".
Dayna, the awesome Vegan Visitor is back with Conchilioni Primavera. What a fantastic way to use fresh produce.
Rebeca of Dinner at the Yellow House hasn't been around PPN lately, but she's back, I'm pleased to say and shares a great dish of Prawns with Snow Peas. She's looking for other ways to serve up the snow peas inadvertantly planted in her garden. Personally, I love them right off the vine in a salad. They're so crunchy and delish.
Amy of Nook & Pantry is back with another fave combo of mine - Farfalle with Smoked Salmon, Artichokes and Cream Cheese. Delish!!!
S'kat of S'kat & the Food shares a great dish filled with my favorite things...Italian Sausages, Zucchini & Summer Squash, Ripe Tomatoes...the list goes on.
Chris of Mele Cotte showed up a bit late, but who could say no to this scrumptious looking Guacamole on Soman Noodles. Don't you just love that green!
And now for me...I'm still hunting for the pasta pot. Thank goodness for the fantastic Italian Market 5 minutes away. We had 4 kinds of lasagna...my pick - the mushroom & ricotta.
Remember - anyone out there with a pasta dish, I will continue to add submissions until Saturday . After that, I will add them to next week's PPN Event. So don't forget to join in with the rest of us Presto Pasta Nighters. It's easy and fun. Remember that ALL noodles dishes count as pasta and "presto" (ready) or "lento" (slow) are perfect. Find out how right here. In the meantime... Happy Pasta Eating!!!
