Happy New Year Everybody!!!
Here’s to a very prosperous, productive, and plentiful 2008! It’s time to get back into the Presto Pasta Night Groove. Last week just a couple of people sent in their delectable dishes, so I thought I’d hold on to them and have them start this year off.
First in was Tigerfish of Teczcape (well actually she submitted it before Christmas, but somehow I missed it)... lovely healthful dish of Steamed Chicken and Noodles...a perfect way to start the year.
Next in was Lalaine of The Cook Mobile who definitely does NOT have dieting on the mind with this awesome Pasta Carbonara a la Pobre.
Katie over at Thyme for Cooking always shares something wonderful. This Veal Marengo is her personal tradition for the holidays....I'll have mine anytime (at least in a couple of weeks)!
Chris of Mele Cotte also brings an over the top dish - Rigatoni with Smoked Mozzarella. Another dish that will have to wait for February for me!
And as if one delicious dish isn't enough, Chris shares this Pasta Crab Casserole that she's getting ready for an upcoming brunch. Lucky guests! It's going into the freezer before the baking, so this is what it looks like now.
Margot of Coffee & Vanilla showed up with a perfectly heavenly looking Turkey Carbonara. Think there's a theme going here?
Johanna, the Green Gourmet Giraffe shares a great post and a fantastic Pumpkin & Pecorino Pasta.
Psychgrad of Equal Opportunity Kitchen brings a perfect Barefoot Contessa dish of Shrimp Linguine. I'll be having some with Multigrain pasta in a week or so, just substituting some really good olive oil for the butter...sigh!
Alisha of Cook, Craft, Enjoy starts the year of with a simple but great dish (especially for those looking for "lean" dishes) of Penne with Spicy Tomato Sauce - secret ingredients capers and olives. Sounds good to me.
Kevin, my favorite Closet Cook(ing) is back with some fantastic sounding Turkey Ramen, I can smell the fragrant broth from here!
Gay, the intrepid Scientist in the Kitchen made a Garlicy Carbonara - that makes three variations so far for this roundup!
Sher of What Did You Eat? whipped this awesome Turkey Sausage Ragu while watching a Law & Order marathon - perfect way to pass the time!
And my dish, because we’re doing South Beach Diet, Phase One for a couple of weeks to deal with all that celebrating, is a dish we ate over Cauli-fried “rice” but my preference would be over fusilli to capture all the smoky flavors of this Ancho Chili Shrimp Stir Fry.
Don't forget to join in the fun for next week and please visit the Presto Pasta Gang on Facebook.
As always...a very big thank you to all of you for playing along and visiting every week!!! I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s in store for 2008’s Presto Pasta meals.

Bummer about the diet - I would be a sprinter too, just do it and get it over with. I hate to diet so try to manage weight by exercise...which I hate only slightly less....
Great round-up - I have to try that cauli-fried rice....
thanks Ruth - I liked your idea of serving pasta sauce on cauliflower fried rice - there are so many good pasta sauces around that can be used in lots of dishes other than pasta.
Thank you Ruth for the round up! :)
So many nice pasta dishes... and I was not the only one using left over turkey :)
Nice to start off the New Year with pasta!
That penne with spicy tomato sauce truly looks delicious! Thanks everyone for a great start to PPN this year!
I am so happy to see that Presto Pasta Night Roundup is continueing in 2008. I had the 2007 page bookmarked and didn't realize there was a new page started for 2008. I was experiencing withdrawl symptoms when I didn't see any new postings. I guess I am addicted. =)
Katiez, the diet isn't soooo bad...okay, I do really miss the pasta and the cauli-fried rice is awesome.
Johanna, you are so right, but at this point in the diet, I WANT PASTA!
Coffee & vanilla, you're right..not the only one using left over turkey.
Tigerfish, Hilary, you are most welcome and, of course, I couldn't have done it without you! Keep them coming for 2008.
Anon - glad the addiction is still going strong!
