The curry powder must make a huge difference too - I used a pretty spicy one. The end result was flavourful, but not as spicy as I would have expected with that much powder!Laura Patersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17588036645858886259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12516077.post-78327517035629951112008-06-24T10:59:00.000-03:002008-06-24T10:59:00.000-03:00Ruth, yours looks fantastic! So that, and armed with a fresh homemade curry powder, I'd try this one again.Ellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06222878867952273122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12516077.post-55493147957310800682008-06-21T23:36:00.000-03:002008-06-21T23:36:00.000-03:00Ruth ~ I think that the sauce is meant to be subtl...Ruth ~ I think that the sauce is meant to be subtle, but I still found myself using 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice at the end to make the sauce zing a bit (without it overpowering the curry, of course). It seems quite a few of us paired the Sauce au Cari with chicken - a good way to test almost any sauce.Shaunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08345640038135299538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12516077.post-11748047379406045102008-06-21T17:17:00.000-03:002008-06-21T17:17:00.000-03:00Debora, thanks for the tip about the coconut milk....Debora, thanks for the tip about the coconut milk.

Sara, always hit and miss with curry powder ...too hot...too mild..

I really am looking forward to the next Julia recipe!Ruth Danielshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11173472189049022779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12516077.post-1399676914384222512008-06-21T13:58:00.000-03:002008-06-21T13:58:00.000-03:00Your picture is very nice Ruth. I think next time I'll cut back on the flour. And maybe the butter. But I used coconut milk and I absolutely loved this sauce.Deborahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11055898829292426436noreply@blogger.com
